For 2 weeks, the Crate and Barrel and marketing teams took some time out to pack and give out food rations to the less fortunate for our #CratesOfLove initiatives with Food from the Heart in a bid to help alleviate hunger in Singapore. We also just wrapped up the collection point in our Crate and Barrel stores and sent the donations down to Food From The Heart, thank you to those who donated, we deeply appreciate it!

Together, we managed to sort out food donations and also packed over 200 food packs that were given out to these beneficiaries. Though tiring, we were extremely heartened when we saw how these non-perishable necessities played a huge role in helping the less fortunate in their daily lives. We are looking forward to continuing our efforts in supporting Food from the Heart and this will not be the end of our #CrateGives initiatives.

About Food from The heart

Food from the Heart (FFTH) is a non-profit charity that feeds the hungry through its food distribution programme. It was established in February 2003 after Singapore-based Austrian couple Henry and Christine Laimer read a report in The Sunday Times about bakeries discarding their unsold bread. Stirred, they then decided to channel surplus food from bakeries to those in need. FFTH started with 120 volunteers in 2003. As of 2017, we work with over 1,700 volunteers, and together we reach 35,500 beneficiaries across Singapore.
